Is it me, or is this the blossom in the UK particularly spectacular this spring?
I’ve been reading a little about Japanese ideas for a while, and Japan is of course well known for its profusion of cherry blossom. Apparently the Japanese regard the blossom as a reminder to find joy in the present moment, and as the petals fall, to recognise the inevitability of change and loss.
However you view the blossom, as a reminder of life’s briefness but also of its beauty, or just as a cheerful sight, I hope you have some near you. It’s hard not to smile when you see a tree full of blossom. A small delight indeed.
