I found these lovely berries on a walk. They are a startling fuchsia pink, with orange circular seeds coming out beneath the pink of the ripe berries. 

Apparently they are Spindleberries. Wikipedia tells me the wood is very hard, and can be cut to a sharp point; it was used in the past for making spindles for wool-spinning and for butchers’ skewers.

Although beautiful, the fruit must not be eaten – it is very poisonous to humans.  Just admire and draw.
