Turning back to the sunflower

Sunflowers do shout ‘summer’. 

This sunflower is huge, and the stalk was so thick, it was difficult to cut the end off.

I think I was getting slightly mesmerised by the enormous centre as I worked with the charcoal on A3 paper.
