Today’s drawing depicts these strange times when we have to keep our distance from one another, but recognises that we are actually all connected.

It’s influenced by the fascinating book The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben which describes how the trees in our woods and forests are linked together in a vast underground network. They communicate and help each other, and when one suffers, it effects the whole ecosystem.

We have realised during these last few months that filling our food cupboards could mean empty shelves for others, but also that roots run deep in communities where so many people have been caring for each other.
